Ingredients
- 9” in diameter pie crust (pastry shell)
- 5 apples, peeled and chopped
- 1 orange, sliced
- 1 cup of sugar
- 5 tbsp wheat flour
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 3 oz unsalted butter
For Topping
- half cup of sugar
- half cup of cornstarch
- 2 tbsp orange zest, minced
- half cup of oats
- 5 tbsp raisins
- 5 oz unsalted butter
- half cup of walnuts
How to Make It
- Preheat the oven to 200˚-220˚ Fahrenheit and then coat the pie pan with the unsalted butter and place the pastry shell inside. Roast the walnuts for 10 min. until light brown.
- In a bowl, combine the sugar, flour and cinnamon and stir in the apples, then spoon the mixture into the pastry shell. Place the orange slices on top.
- Let’s get to the topping now – melt the butter over the low heat, stirring all the time and combine all the topping ingredients except for the walnuts until smooth consistency.
- Spoon the mixture into the pastry shell and bake for 50-60 min.
- 10 min. before the pie is ready open the oven and sprinkle the walnuts on top.
