This super-simple salad which my grandmother made for us every winter reminds me to celebrate something we often take for granted: sweet, sunny oranges in a dark, snowy season.
How to Make It
- Peel the oranges, removing as much pith as possible. (The pith is the outer white layer beneath the skin.)
- Slice the oranges about ¼-inch thick and arrange them on a serving plate. Lightly drizzle the sliced oranges with olive oil and sprinkle with black pepper, coarsely ground.
