Ingredients
- 6 Boston lettuce leaves
- 3 tablespoons mayonnaise, divided
- 2 tablespoons preferred homemade mustard (optional)
- 6 ounces sliced ham
- ½ avocado, sliced
- 2 ounces Swiss cheese, sliced (omit if dairy-sensitive)
- 6 fresh chives (optional; for securing sandwiches)
Additional Fixings (Optional)
How to Make It
- Lay the lettuce leaves flat on a large plate. Spread 1½ teaspoons mayo and 1 teaspoon mustard, if using, on each leaf. Lay equal amounts of the meat, avocado, and cheese on each leaf. Add additional fixings of your choosing, if desired. (My favorites are listed in the ingredients list, but you can use anything you like!)
- Tuck the sides of the leaf slightly over the filling, then roll the long edge up like a burrito. Secure with chives if desired.
