Ingredients
- 6 slices bacon, chopped into small pieces
- 1 head roasted garlic or 3 cloves raw garlic, minced
- ¼ cup beef bone broth
- ¼ cup chopped yellow onion
- 1 teaspoon stevia glycerite
- ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
- ¼ teaspoon fine sea salt
- 1 tablespoon caraway seeds
- 1 small head cabbage, sliced into thin, noodlelike strips
- 1 pound Polish kielbasa, cut into 2- to 3-inch lengths
- ½ cup preferred homemade mustard, for serving
How to Make It
- In a large skillet, fry the chopped bacon over medium-high heat until browned. Remove the bacon from the pan and place on paper towels to drain. Leave the bacon drippings in the pan.
- Squeeze the roasted garlic from the head into the pan with the bacon drippings. Then add the broth, onion, stevia, red pepper flakes, salt, and caraway seeds and stir to combine. Add the cabbage and gently stir. Cover and cook over medium heat for 10 to 15 minutes, until the cabbage is fork-tender.
- Add the kielbasa to the pan and cook, covered, for an additional 10 to 15 minutes, until the kielbasa is cooked through. Sprinkle the bacon pieces over the top. Serve with the mustard.
