Turkey is an excellent source of selenium, iron, zinc, and B vitamins. It spoils quickly, so store it in the refrigerator after shaping the burgers.
Ingredients
- 14 oz (400 g) ground turkey
- 0.33 cup fresh white bread crumbs
- 1 tbsp sweet chili sauce
- 4 scallions, white part only, finely sliced
- ¼ cup finely chopped cilantro leaves
- ¾ in (2 cm) fresh ginger, finely grated
- 1 red chile, seeded and finely chopped
- salt and freshly ground black pepper
To Serve
- 4 hamburger buns
- lettuce
- tomato
- finely sliced red onions
- mayonnaise
- Greek Yogurt
- sweet chili sauce
How to Make It
- Prepare the grill for cooking. In a large bowl, mix together all the ingredients until well combined.
- With damp hands (to help keep the mixture from sticking to your fingers), divide the mixture into four balls and roll each one between your palms until smooth. Flatten each ball out to a large, fat disk, 1 in (3 cm) high, and pat the edges in to tidy them up. Place the burgers on a plate, cover with plastic wrap, and chill for 30 minutes (this helps them keep their shape while cooking).
- Cook over a hot grill for 6–7 minutes, turning as needed, until the meat is springy to the touch and the edges charred.
- Serve with a selection of buns and accompaniments, and let everyone build their own burgers.
