Ingredients
- 8 cups apple cider or apple juice
- 4 cups low-calorie light lemonade
- 2 Tbsp packed brown sugar
- 4 small chunks crystallized ginger
- 8 whole allspice
- 8 inches stick cinnamon, broken
- 1 apple, cored, seeded, and cut into thin wedges
- Cinnamon sticks (optional)
How to Make It
- In a 4- to 5-quart slow cooker combine cider, lemonade, and sugar.
- For spice bag, place ginger, allspice, and cinnamon in double-thick 6-inch square of 100-percent-cotton cheesecloth. Bring up corners and tie closed with 100-percent-cotton kitchen string; add to cooker. Cover and cook on low-heat setting 5 to 6 hours or on high-heat setting 2-½ to 3 hours. Remove and discard spice bag. Add apple to cooker.
- If desired, garnish with a cinnamon stick and a thin slice of additional apple.
