    • Preparation Time: 20 Minutes

    Ingredients

    • 8 cups apple cider or apple juice
    • 4 cups low-calorie light lemonade
    • 2 Tbsp packed brown sugar
    • 4 small chunks crystallized ginger
    • 8 whole allspice
    • 8 inches stick cinnamon, broken
    • 1 apple, cored, seeded, and cut into thin wedges
    • Cinnamon sticks (optional)
    How to Make It
    1. In a 4- to 5-quart slow cooker combine cider, lemonade, and sugar.
    2. For spice bag, place ginger, allspice, and cinnamon in double-thick 6-inch square of 100-percent-cotton cheesecloth. Bring up corners and tie closed with 100-percent-cotton kitchen string; add to cooker. Cover and cook on low-heat setting 5 to 6 hours or on high-heat setting 2-½ to 3 hours. Remove and discard spice bag. Add apple to cooker.
    3. If desired, garnish with a cinnamon stick and a thin slice of additional apple.
