Absolutely simple, fresh, and healthy!
Ingredients
- 4 apples (such as Northern Spy or Ida Red)
- ½ cup raisins
- ¼ cup chopped walnuts
- ¼ cup maple syrup or brown sugar
- ½ cup apple cider, apple juice, or water
How to Make It
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Core and peel a strip around the middle of each apple to prevent from bursting in the oven.
- Stuff raisins and walnuts into the center of each apple.
- If using maple syrup, drizzle into the core of each apple. If using brown sugar, divide evenly among the 4 apples and sprinkle over filling.
- Place the apples upright in an 8-by-8-inch baking dish. Pour the apple cider, apple juice, or water into bottom of the pan.
- Bake for about 45 minutes or until apples are very soft when pierced with a fork.
