Satisfy the whole family’s appetite with this hearty beef and potato pie.
Ingredients
- 5 medium potatoes (peeled, mashed)
- 1¼ pound lean ground beef
- ½ cup onion (peeled, chopped)
- ¼ tsp salt
- Dash of black pepper
- 2½ cups frozen cut green beans (chopped)
- 1 (10¾ ounce) can condensed tomato soup
- ½ cup processed American cheese (shredded)
How to Make It
- Prepare the mashed potatoes and set to one side.
- In a large frying pan, cook the ground beef along with the onion until the meat is browned and the onion, fork tender. Drain off any excess fat.
- Season with salt and black pepper.
- Stir in the thawed green beans along with the tomato soup.
- Pour the mixture into a lightly greased casserole dish of 2 quart capacity.
- Spoon in mounds, or pipe the mashed potatoes over the ingredients in the casserole dish.
- Scatter the shredded cheese over the top and uncovered, bake in the oven at 350 degrees F for between 30-35 minutes, until the cheese begins to brown and the mixture bubbles.
