Recipes where you can dump all the ingredients into one pot and come back to a finished dish later are the true joy of using a slow cooker. Why do the work when your slow cooker can do it for you? I like to make this sweet treat on a weeknight as a little pick-me-up when I’m pressed for time.
Ingredients
- 2 (21-ounce) cans apple pie filling
- 1 (16.25-ounce) box white cake mix
- ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
- Caramel sauce, warmed, for serving
How to Make It
- Spray the insert of a 6-quart slow cooker with cooking spray.
- Pour the apple pie filling into the slow cooker and spread it evenly over the bottom.
- In a medium bowl, combine the cake mix and melted butter and stir until crumbly.
- Pour the cake crumble mixture over the apple pie filling and spread it out evenly. Cover and cook on High for 2 hours.
- Scoop into bowls and serve with a drizzle of warm caramel sauce.
