Ingredients
- 1 lb (450 g) potatoes
- 1 lb (450 g) cabbage
- 2 medium leeks washed, trimmed and thinly sliced
- 1 cup (250 ml) milk
- salt and pepper to season
- pinch ground mace
- 4 oz (110 g) butter
How to Make It
- Boil the potatoes in a large saucepan until tender. Remove and set aside.
- Now add the cabbage using the same water and boil for about 5 minutes. Drain and reserve.
- Now put the leeks in a saucepan, cover with milk and simmer until tender.
- Season with salt and pepper and mash potatoes, then stir in the leeks and milk. Now stir in the cabbage and heat through. Make a hole in the centre and tip in the melted butter. Combine well. Serve hot.
