Ingredients
- 4 apples
- ⅔ cups flour
- 1 egg
- ½ cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ½ cup vinsanto or white wine
- Salt
- Extra-virgin olive oi
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Powdered sugar for dusting
How to Make It
- Combine the flour, egg, baking powder, a pinch of salt and 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large mixing bowl. Add the white wine and a bit of water. Knead into a dough, and set aside for at least 30 minutes.
- Peel the apples and remove the core. Cut the apple into slices, and put them in the dough for a couple of minutes.
- In a separate skillet, warm a generous amount of oil and fry the apple slices until golden on both sides.
- Remove the apples from the oil and drain on paper towels. Set aside to cool, and serve sprinkled with powdered sugar.
