There are few things more comforting than a warm mug of cocoa before bedtime, and few ingredients more slumber-friendly than almond milk. Almonds are a rich source of magnesium, a mineral that contributes to a good night’s sleep. The relaxing and soothing effect of warm milk made from ground almonds mixed with cocoa powder will help you fall asleep softly and soundly. Better than a sleeping pill.
Ingredients
- 2 rounded teaspoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 level teaspoon sugar, or to taste
- 1 cup almond milk
- Whipped cream (optional)
How to Make It
- Combine the cocoa powder and sugar in your favorite cup. Place the almond milk in a small saucepan over medium heat until it is hot, not quite to a boil.
- Add just a few tablespoons of the hot milk into the cocoa mix, and stir into a smooth paste with a wooden spoon. Gradually add the remainder of the milk and continue stirring until fully incorporated.
- Froth with an immersion blender until creamy and foamy. Top with whipped cream if desired.
