Ravensara essential oil facts and benefits

Scientifically, the plant of Ravensara is called Ravensara aromatic. The essential oil which is extracted with the distillation of Cinnamomum camphora leaves which is cultivated in Madagascar. This oil provides relief from infection of viruses such as herpes, cold sores and shingles. In folk medicine, it is used for expectorant, antiseptic, antiviral and antibacterial properties. This essential oil is clear, white and transparent with spicy and woody odor. It blends well with essential oils of tea tree, eucalyptus, cinnamon, oregano, frankincense, hyssop and spice oils such as black pepper and clove.

History

Ravensara essential oil is native to Madagascar. It thrives well in humid conditions of rain forests. It has reddish bark and leaves of elliptical shape. It bears small and green fruits which has six septum inside. The tree grew upto 20 to 30 meters in height. It has glossy and waxy leaves.
