Warm-up is the first part of the three-segment workout. It prepares the body physically and mentally for the conditioning bout.


The 5-10 minutes of low-intensity movement at the beginning of a workout that prepares the body for activity by increasing muscle temperature and metabolism.


Period of time used to prepare the body for vigorous activity. Stretching movements and easy-range-of-movement exercises that raise the core temperature of the body are performed. A gradual increase in activity level that allows the heart and lungs to make a smooth transition into more vigorous activity/exercise.
