Ulnar drift

Alteration in the position of the metacarpophalangeal joints where the fingers curve toward the ulnar bone of the forearm; results from rheumatoid arthritis.


A joint abnormality at the metacarpophalangeal joints, frequently seen in rheumatoid arthritis, resulting from chronic synovitis. In this condition, the long axis of the fingers deviates in an ulnar direction with respect to the metacarpals.
