Trichorrhexis nodosa

Technical term for knotted hair; it is characterized by brittleness and the formation of nodular swellings along the hair shaft.

A hair-related atrophic disorder, typically seen in the beard area, marked by irregular, node-like thickening along the hair shaft, which are essentially partial hair breakages. This condition often results in broken hairs with brush-like ends, leading to some degree of hair loss. It is also known as trichoclasia or trichoclasis.
