Tree

Perennial woody plant with secondary thickening, with a clear main trunk. (The distinction between tree and shrub is fluid, but generally accepted to be dependent on the single trunk, and on height, a tree being at least 2–3 m tall).

Woody, usually tall, perennial higher plants (Angiosperms, Gymnosperms, and some Pterophyta) having usually a main stem and numerous branches.

A woody plant with a main trunk. Trees in common are greater than shrubs.

Woody perennials with a single main stem or trunk.

Woody plant with a clear main trunk, usually with secondary thickening and being at least two or three metres tall, although this definition is fluid and merges with the definition of a large shrub.

A woody plant, often very tall and large but not always, with only one main stem and very rarely more.

A woody plant, usually reaching a height of more than about 15 ft (4.5 m) and tending to have a single main trunk at least in the sapling stage. There is some overlap in definition between a small tree and a tall shrub, but this is virtually confined to plants in the 10-20 ft (3-6 m) height range, and it is only in these cases that habit of growth may be the deciding issue.
