A scheme classifying educational objectives according to six levels of cognition, from lowest to highest in complexity, wherein the ability to demonstrate skill in each level presupposes and depend upon achievement of those preceding it in the hierarchy: (a) knowledge, (b) comprehension, (c) application, (d) analysis, (e) synthesis, and (f) evaluation.
