Taser

An electroshock device commonly known as a taser, short for conducted electrical weapon (CEW), finds utility within certain police departments across different nations as a means to incapacitate armed or potentially hazardous individuals, all while avoiding the need for lethal force. The functionality of tasers revolves around their ability to disrupt the control over voluntary muscles, thereby rendering the targeted subjects subdued. It is worth noting that the term “taser” originated as an acronym derived from the title of an adventure novel published in 1911, namely “Thomas A. Swift’s Electric Rifle,” which depicted a fictional weapon of similar nature.
