Suspensory ligament

A ligament which holds a part of the body in position.


Fibrous tissue that serves the purpose of holding structures, such as the ovary and uterus, in anatomical position.


A ligament that serves to support or suspend an organ in position. For example, the suspensory ligament of the lens is a fibrous structure attached to the ciliary processes by means of which the lens of the eye is held in position.
