Sloe

A diminutive, blue-black variety of wild plum originating from the European blackthorn tree. Sloes are commonly steeped in gin to create “sloe gin,” and are frequently employed in jelly preparation, as well as being utilized alongside apples in cake recipes.

The untamed plum or the bountiful yield of the blackthorn tree. Sloes, possessing a diminutive stature, showcase a regal purple exterior and harbor an intensely tangy yellow flesh. These petite fruits find their purpose in amalgamation with other bountiful produce, contributing to the creation of delectable jellies. Furthermore, they are meticulously transformed into captivating liqueurs and cordials, most notably the esteemed sloe gin.
