Slippery Elm

A food and a medicine that comes from the outer bark of the Red Elm tree.

An herbal remedy used as a demulcent or as a poultice.

A type of elm tree, whose powdered and dried inner bark has historically been employed for various purposes, such as alleviating catarrh and diarrhea, despite having no discernible impact on these conditions. Additionally, it has been used as a purported remedy for regulating menstruation, with users firmly believing it could initiate menstruation or potentially induce an abortion, although there is no scientific basis for its efficacy in these regards.
