When it comes to safeguarding against exposure, protective gear like lead aprons and gloves are utilized, offering a .5mm lead equivalent. In a diagnostic X-ray room, the control panel should be encased with a 1.5mm lead (1/16 inch thick) lining, reaching a height of seven feet. Additionally, an overlapping lead-glass window, featuring a 1.5mm lead equivalent, should be incorporated for added protection.
