This herb, known for its bitterness, is one of the most visually striking as well. It is an evergreen shrub with thick, blue-green leaves and small, golden, star-shaped flowers. Although it has a strong, unpleasant odor and a bitter taste, it adds a musty flavor which can be surprisingly appealing when used in small amounts.
