Riesling

Riesling, a variety of green grape, takes the spotlight in the production of wines that bear its name. Renowned as the classical grape of Germany, it thrives in regions such as Mosel and Rheingau, where the majority of Riesling grapes are cultivated. These wines, highly regarded, often come with a higher price tag due to the fact that Riesling vines produce approximately half the yield of other grape varieties. Beyond Germany, Austria and Alsace also excel in crafting fine Riesling wines. Although Riesling grapes are grown in Australia, South Africa, Chile, and California, the climates in these regions prove too hot to replicate the excellence found in German-made Riesling wines.
