Pulmonary incompetence

An infrequent anomaly affecting the pulmonary valve situated at the egress of the heart’s right ventricle (lower chamber). In this condition, the valve does not seal adequately, permitting blood to regurgitate back into the heart. Common contributors to pulmonary incompetence encompass rheumatic fever, endocarditis (inflammation of the inner heart lining), or significant pulmonary hypertension.
