Psychoanalyst

A person, often a psychiatrist, who has had training in psychoanalysis and who uses the techniques of psychoanalytic theory in the treatment of patients.

Some psychoanalysts, such as followers of Melanie Klein, specialize in psychoanalysis of children and adolescents.
