Pioglitazone

A thiazolidinedione administered orally as an adjunct to diet and exercise for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Its therapeutic class is antidiabetic (oral).

A medication taken orally to lower blood sugar levels, pioglitazone is often used alongside other oral diabetes drugs, such as metformin or sulphonylurea, to treat type 2 diabetes. It works by improving the body’s sensitivity to insulin. Some potential side effects include digestive issues, weight gain, and anemia.
