Pap test

Developed by George Papanicolaou and consists of obtaining cells from the cervix of the uterus and examining them under the microscope for any abnormal conditions that could indicate the presence of a malignancy pap smear.

A procedure in which cells are removed from the cervix and examined for signs of cancer.

Short for Papanicolaou’s test, an examination of the cells of the cervix and vagina for precancerous-or cancerous abnormalities.
