  • Autistic hostility

    The strong dislike felt by one group for another.  

  • Autistic

    Pertaining to a mentally introverted, self- centered condition in which reality is excluded children have little affect, showing either no emotional response or very inappropriate response. Affected by, or relating to, autism.  

  • Authority structure

    In sociology, those elected officials of a community who are mandated to make decisions on behalf of the people; common council, board of supervisors, board of health, state legislature, mayor, and governor, power structure.  

  • Authoritarian personality

    A group of personal attributes and social attributes held to constitute a distinct personality.  

  • Authoritarian parents

    Parents who believe children’s behavior should be closely regulated and who are likely to use power-assertive discipline methods, permissive parents; authoritative parents. Parents who allow their children a great deal of freedom, but at the same time, consistently enforce some rules and standards of conduct, authoritarian parents; permissive parents.    

  • Authoritarian leader

    A person who behaves toward subordinates in a controlling and dictatorial manner, authoritarianism.  

  • Authoritarianism

    A philosophy of encouraging and upholding authority against individual freedom.  

  • Authoritarian

    A person who assumes that human relations are irrelevant to getting work done, and that people are necessarily indolent, self-centered, and uncooperative; and that they require strong direction and control if discipline is to be maintained, authoritarian leader.  

  • Authenticity of evidence

    In research, reassurance that the evidence is what it purports to be. For example, that a test score represents a sample of a particular individual’s behavior and not that of someone else.  

  • Authentic self

    In psychology, a positive self-identity that underlies a person’s more temporary mood identities.
