  • Behavior management program

    In clinical psychology, a therapeutic technique in which a systematic application of reinforcement and possibly punishment is used to reduce the undesirable behavior and encourage more acceptable behaviors.

    A questionnaire that attempts to identify the problems of health and survival based on individual lifestyle behaviors Many appraisal forms are computerized and use a database to make projections about a person’s health status or health potential.  

  • Behavior genetics

    The study of individual differences in behavior that are attributable in part to differences in genetic makeup.  

  • Behavior disorder

    Emotional disturbance. Alternate term for disruptive behavior disorder, a classification of mental disorder that includes attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and conduct disorder.

    The shaping and manipulation of behavior by the use of drugs, persuasion, and other strategies.

    A test of symptoms and attitudes related to depression used by psychologists to assess the severity of a person’s mood disorder.  

  • Beam

    Brain electrical activity mapping, a technique to diagnose brain dysfunction, such as Alzheimer’s disease. In nuclear medicine and radiology, photons or atomic particles directed from a point-source toward an object in order to image or treat the object.
