  • Brompton’s cocktail (mixture)

    A protease or enzyme found in the fresh juice of the pineapple.  

  • British system

    Pertains to the drug addiction approach in force in Great Britain wherein drug addicts may register and be prescribed legal narcotics.

    The psychological school of thought that holds that all knowledge comes by way of the senses, by empirical experiences.

    A personality disorder in which alcoholism and somatization disorder occur.  

  • Brill’s disease

    The epidemic variety of typhus fever spread by the bite of a rat flea.  

  • Brightness ratio

    The relationship or ratio between the light reflected by an area and the light reflected by the area that surrounds it  brightness contrast.  

  • Brightness constancy

    The fact that objects retain their relative brightness under various levels of illumination brightness contrast. The tendency to perceive a light/darkness difference of two areas that are adjacent to each other. An area appears lighter when adjacent to or upon a dark background, brightness ratio.
