  • Pseudoisochromatic plates

    A test of color vision. The plates contain a color figure embedded in a background of another color.

    A condition in which a person has the gonads of one sex and the external genitalia of the other sex androgenital; testicular feminization; true hermaphrodism syndrome.  

  • Pseudoglioma

    A benign intraocular disturbance resulting from detachment of the retina. Inflammatory changes occurring in the vitreous body that simulate glioma of retina but are due to iridochoroiditis.

    An OTC sympathomimetic drug. A nasal decongestant. Pseudoephedrine is used to relieve the nasal or sinus congestion caused by the common cold, sinusitis, hay fever, and other respiratory allergies.   • Pseudodominance

    An apparent dominance of a recessive gene in an area opposite a chromosome deficiency. The recessive gene is expressed because its dominant allele is absent.  

  • Pseudocommunity

    A delusional social environment developed or devised by one suffering from paranoia.  

  • Pseudoalleles

    Closely linked genes that behave as alleles but can be separable by crossing over. A set of genes that seem to be present in the same locus in certain conditions and in closely situated loci in other conditions.  

  • Psephologist

    A person who specializes in the science of elections.  

  • Prurient interest

    Extraordinary interest or concern with nudity, sex, or excretion that goes beyond normal curiosity.
