  • Respiratory shock

    Shock induced as a result of an insufficient supply of oxygen in the body as a result of an inability to breathe.  

  • Respiratory disease

    A class of infectious diseases characterized by infection of the lungs and related tissues and organs. They generally follow the cycle of incubation, prodrome, fastigium, defervescence, convalescence, and defection.  

  • Respirator

    A device for maintaining respiration by artificial means. Same as ventilator. A mask worn to prevent someone breathing harmful gas or fumes. An apparatus that modifies the air inhaled through it.   • Resource theory

    The Foas’ model of social exchange suggests that the set of classes into which the sources of all pleasure-giving activities fall may be limited and that there may be fundamental rules that govern the exchange of activities in the various classes.  

  • Resource persons

    Parents, health providers, and others who can assist teachers, schools, and learners in the promotion of the school health program.    

  • Resource guide

    A listing of all the human and material resources available within the school or community that can be used as an aid in implementing the health program once it is developed.  

  • Resolution phase

    The sexual response phase of loss of arousal.  

  • Res judicate

    A matter judicially decided.  

  • Resistance to extinction

    The tendency of a conditioned response to persist in the absence of any reinforcement.
