  • Saline induction

    A form of abortion performed between the 13th and 19th week of pregnancy. It involves the removal of about 200cc of amniotic fluid and replacing it with a saline solution. Labor is then induced and the fetus is expelled.

    Chemical salts that rush food through the bowels. A salt, such as epsom salts, used to produce evacuation of the bowel.

  • Salicylamide

    A pain-killing drug used to relieve mild pain in rheumatoid conditions or to reduce fever and inflammation. An analgesic drug with effects and uses similar to those of aspirin. It is administered by mouth and may cause dizziness, sweating, and digestive upsets at high doses.  

  • Safety signal

    A stimulus that has been contingent with the absence of an electric shock, or other negative reinforcer, in a situation in which such shocks are sometimes applied, contingency.

    The need for security, stability, dependency, protection, freedom from fear, anxiety and chaos, and the need for structure, order, law, and limits.

    Measures taken to increase the safety of the work environment through the design of machinery and the environment itself through the use of protective procedures.
