  • Situationism

    Decision making on the basis of the context of a particular situation, not on the basis of a prescribed set of laws or codes of action.  

  • Situation ethics

    A belief that no one set of rules or principles can be applicable to all situations. Each specific situation must be analyzed to determine which ethical principles are applicable.  

  • Situation and behavior analogues

    In research, studies of the conditions that will induce symptoms similar to minor psychopathology in humans.

    A test that measures performance in a simulated life situation.

    A condition in which a woman has never experienced an orgasm during sexual intercourse with a particular partner or in a specific situation.

    Homosexual behavior that takes place in sex-segregated situations, such as prisons, boarding schools, the military, and the like. A moral standard based upon what seems right in the immediate situation.

    The environmental conditions that precede and follow a particular behavior, being a primary focus of behavioral assessment.
