  • Somatic nerve

    One of the nerves of sensation or motion. Any of the sensory and motor nerves which control skeletal muscles. A nerve that innervates somatic structures. These include skeletal muscle (motor nerves) and receptors in skin, joints, and skeletal muscle (sensory nerves).  

  • Somatic depression

    A type of depression characterized by sleep disturbances, significant fluctuations in weight or appetites, and a variety of other physical complaints that may be interpreted as being hypochondriacal.  

  • Somatic damage

    Cell damage.  

  • Somatic anxiety

    Anxiety that involves respiratory, gastrointestinal, and autonomic symptoms, psychological anxiety.  

  • Soma cells

    The cells that make up the body, as contrasted the germ cells that are capable of reproducing the organism, somatic cells.
