    Heat-loving. Referring to an organism which needs a high temperature to grow. Describing organisms, especially bacteria, that grow best at temperatures of 48-85°C. Compare mesophilic, psychrophilic.

    Inactivated, easily changed or destroyed by high temperatures. Altered or damaged by heat.
