    Forced discharge of the breath. An act of forcing breath out of the body. The forcible removal of secretions from the air passages by some form of suction apparatus. Forceful expulsion of air from a cavity by artificial means, such as use of a mechanical exsufflator.

    An agent that absorbs moisture. Absorbing or drying up a discharge.

    Withdrawal of small amounts of blood and replacement with donor blood until a large proportion of the blood volume has been replaced.
