The lowermost part of the throat that leads to the voice box and esophagus. The part of the pharynx between the hyoid bone and the bottom of the cricoid cartilage. The lower portion of the pharynx that opens into the larynx anteriorly and the esophagus posteriorly.

Suffusion of blood beneath the nail. An extravasation of blood beneath the nail.

Thickened skin underneath free end of nail; nail bed. Free edge portion of the nail growing beyond the phalanx tips. Slightly thickened layer of skin that lies between the fingertip and free edge of the natural nail plate.

Sluggish mental activity. Diminished or sluggish mental activity.

Decreased secretion of mucus.
