  • Distil

    To separate the component parts of a liquid by boiling and collecting the condensed vapour.  

  • Distichiasis

    The presence of extra eyelashes, sometimes growing on the meibomian glands. Distichiasis is the condition in which there are two complete rows of eyelashes in one eyelid (or in both). A condition in which there are two rows of eyelashes, one or both being directed inward toward the eye.  

  • Distended bladder

    A bladder which is full of urine.

    Bones nearest the ends of the fingers and toes.

    A joint nearest the end of the finger or toe. The articular surface between the last two phalanges in a finger or toe.

    A trade name for the analgesic co-proxamol. The brand name for co-proxamol, an analgesic drug containing paracetamol and the weak opioid dextropropoxyphene, is “Distalgesic.” It was used to relieve pain, but it has been discontinued in several countries due to safety concerns related to the potential risk of overdose and poisoning.     To absorb or disperse something in liquid. To combine a solid and a liquid together, usually by submerging the former in the latter, resulting in a mixture where both components lose their distinct identities. An example of this process is adding gelatin to hot water, causing it to dissolve and become homogenized within the liquid.…
