Mindblown: a blog about philosophy.

  • Clearing time

The duration of fixer time necessary to eliminate all unexposed silver salts from a film.

  • Circuit booster

A device, known as a booster, is incorporated in the filament circuit to restrict the filament current to a low level until the closure of the x-ray exposure switch.

  • Cine fluoroscopy

A technique employed to create motion pictures directly from the output phosphor of the image intensifier.

  • Cine camera

A camera specifically designed for capturing motion, commonly employed in cinefluoroscopy and typically utilizing either 16 or 35 mm film formats. The frame rates of such cameras can range from 15 to 60 frames per second.

  • Choke coil

A variable resistor that operates based on the principle of electromagnetic self-induction, exclusively utilizing alternating current.

  • Chemical fog

Fogging in film can occur due to various factors such as developing at excessively high temperatures or overdevelopment, usage of oxidized or deteriorated developer, prolonged or repeated inspection of films during development, and contamination of tanks.

  • Chemical bond

An attraction between two ions, also known as ionic polar valence.

  • Chemical behavior

The capacity of an element to combine with another element relies on the valence of the element.

  • Changeover switch

An electrical switch that enables the fluorographer to seamlessly transition from fluoroscopy to spot film work automatically.

  • Centripetal force

A force that originates or operates in a direction directed towards the central axis.
