Eucalyptol
A substance obtained from eucalyptus oil. A volatile oil that has a mild irritant effect on the mucous membranes of the mouth and digestive system. It is taken as pastilles or inhaled as vapor to relieve catarrh. Large doses may cause nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
