Mindblown: a blog about philosophy.

  • Mutual induction

When an electric current passes through the primary coil and the secondary coil is positioned in close proximity to the primary coil, the secondary coil will experience an electric current flow if it intersects with the oscillating magnetic field lines. This phenomenon is referred to as mutual induction.

  • Multisection cassette

Utilized for tomographic investigations, this technique enables a visual radiographic documentation of multiple films positioned within a single cassette and captured with a single exposure.

  • Multiphase

An electrical current having many phases, for example, three-phase generator.

  • Multiformat camera

A method employed for documenting CT, Ultrasound, and Nuclear Medicine procedures, typically on “8X10” film using diverse formats.

  • M shell

The third electron shell surrounding the nucleus of an atom, consisting of electrons characterized by the principal quantum number 3.

  • Moving bucky

A grid that moves in a reciprocating or synchronized manner during the exposure duration.

  • Screen mottle

The occurrence of screen mottle is attributed to the inherent structure of the phosphor coating on the screen. Screen mottle manifests as an uneven or speckled visual effect.

  • Electrical motor

A mechanism that transforms electrical energy into mechanical energy is known as an electrical-to-mechanical converter.

  • Monocular stereoscope

A compact and lightweight handheld stereoscopic unit, designed for portability and ease of use.

  • Monochromatic radiation

Electromagnetic radiation characterized by a singular wavelength, where all photons possess identical energy, is referred to as monochromatic radiation.
