Mindblown: a blog about philosophy.

  • Radiation equivalent man

A quantification of ionizing radiation, defined as the magnitude capable of inflicting an equivalent level of harm to the human body as one roentgen of high voltage x-rays.

  • Radiation counter

A device employed to detect or measure nuclear radiation by tallying the consequential ionizing incidents is known as a radiation detection instrument. Illustrative instances include Geiger counters and scintillation counters.

  • Quantum noise

An arbitrary noise configuration emerges due to inadequate absorption of the x-ray beam within the subject and/or the input screen of the image intensifier, resulting in an uneven pattern.

  • Quantum

The substantiality of energy connected to a particular occurrence can be ascribed to the quantum of electromagnetic radiation, commonly known as the photon.

  • Radiographic quantity

Milliampere-seconds govern the magnitude of the primary beam. This magnitude, denoted as density, represents the comprehensive obscurity of a radiographic image.

  • Quantity of electricity

The magnitude of electric current passing through a circuit at a specific moment in time.

  • Therapy quality

The filter, known as the half-value layer, regulates the quality of the primary beam produced by x-ray therapy units.

  • Radiographic quality

The kilovoltage setting governs the quality of the primary beam in radiography. This quality, also known as contrast, refers to the extent of differentiation between the shades of gray that distinguish bony structures from tissue opacity. In the realm of radiography, a profound synthesis arises from the intricate interplay of diverse elements. It is within…

  • Q shell

The seventh electron shell encircling the nucleus of an atom, accommodating electrons distinguished by a principal quantum number of 7.

  • Q electron

An electron occupying an orbital within the Q shell, which corresponds to the seventh electron shell encircling the atomic nucleus, counting outward from the nucleus.
