Level system
A system used by hair colorists to value the natural level of lightness or darkness in your hair color. Highlights

Hair shaft
The full length of one piece of hair, from root to end. The keratinized portion of a hair that extends from a hair follicle beyond the surface of the epidermis. The portion of hair that projects above the epidermis.

Hairpin
A long metal tool used to hold hair in place. A double helical stretch of DNA formed by base pairing between neighboring strands.

A small, often elasticized, fine net worn over long hair to hold it in place, particularly when you are roller-setting your hair overnight.

A classic firm-hold styling product to slick, set, and shape all hairstyles.
