Quality assurance coordinator
A person given certain duties with respect to quality assurance (QA) activities. The duties may, for example, include data gathering, assisting QA committees in their work, maintenance of records of QA activities, and preparation of reports dealing with the QA program.

Public Citizen Health Research Group
An independent membership organization founded in 1971 by Sidney Wolfe, MD, and Ralph Nader (who was associated with PCHRG until 1982). PCHRG publishes a monthly newsletter. Health Letter, and states that its purpose is “to empower patients and to improve the safety and health of the workplace.”

Products of ambulatory care
A classification developed by the New York State Ambulatory Care Reimbursement Demonstration Project in 1985 as a “sophisticated ambulatory care product definition.” There are 24 PAC categories, into which patient visits are allocated by computer depending on “who the patient is” (type of problem presented) and what is done (resources received).
