  • Readmission

    A second (or later) admission of a patient to a facility. Sometimes the term is used in a manner that implies that the readmission is tor further treatment for the condition occasioning the previous admission, because of recurrence of the problem or failure of completion of care; however, this inference is not warranted.

    The range of difference in insurance premiums for a specific class of individuals. Some health care reform proposals require that such bands be eliminated, that is, they require that all insurers adopt the same rate for a given class of individuals.
