Irritable; quick-tempered without apparent cause. Choleric refers to a specific temperament characterized by frequent outbursts of anger and irritability. In ancient belief, it was attributed to an excess production of bile within individuals with this disposition. Consequently, the term “choleric” finds its origins in the Greek word “khole,” which means bile.
