Diminished secretion of the pineal gland.

Hypophysitis
An inflammation of the pituitary gland. Lymphocytic or autoimmune hypophysitis is the most common type of pituitary gland inflammation. A typical patient is a woman, who, after delivering a child, develops excess prolactin secretion (“hyperprolactinemia”) and an enlarged pituitary gland.
